Shihan Cedric Barksdale

Shihan Cedric Barksdale has been studying and teaching karate for over 30 years. He received the rank of Rokudan (6th degree black belt) from Grandmaster Thomas LaPuppet and from Hanshi George Anderson of the United States Karate Federation (USAKF). He also holds the rank of Godan (5th degree black belt) from the World Karate-Do Federation (WKF), French Karate Federation and the USA National Karate-Do Federation (NKF). The USA-NKF is sanctioned as the National Governing Body for the sport of karate by the United States Olympic Committee. Shihan Barksdale is a permanent member of the USA Karate/United States Ju-Jitsu Federation’s National Advisory Board for the Police Self Defense Instructors Institute.

Shihan Barksdale in a former National Champion with the Amateur Athletic Union, the USAKF and was also a member of the United States National Karate Team from 1984 to 1988. Sensei Barksdale is a licensed WKF and Pan American Karate Federation official and a member of the USA-NKF Referee Council.

Shihan Barksdale is the President and Chief Instructor of the Ronin Shotokan Karate-Do Association.

Angel Joseph

Angel Joseph, Nidan (2nd Degree Black Belt): Angel began his martial arts training in Trinidad, in 1997. Angel migrated to USA and began working at the Brooklyn Athletic Health Club, the then home of Ronin Shotokan Karate-Do (RSKD). He began training with RSKD in 2004 where he earned the rank of Shodan, 1st degree black belt. Angel was promoted to Ni Dan in 2013. Angel is also certified as a personal fitness trainer with East Coast Athletics (ECA).
